The Itinerary: From Coffee to Cascades
- Morning Pick-Up: Our friendly driver will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi.
- Journey to Materuni: Enjoy a scenic drive up the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro to the village of Materuni.
- The Coffee Experience: Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by the local Chagga people. They will guide you through the entire process of making coffee, from the bean to the cup. You will learn how the beans are cultivated, harvested, and roasted. You’ll even get to participate in the traditional grinding of the beans, often accompanied by local songs and danc
- Lunch in the Village: After your coffee experience, a delicious traditional Chagga lunch will be served. This is a chance to taste local cuisine and connect with your hosts.
- Hike to the Waterfalls: After lunch, your local guide will lead you on a scenic hike. You’ll pass through banana and coffee plantations, learning about the local flora and fauna. The 40-minute hike will lead you to the majestic Materuni Waterfalls, an impressive cascade over 80 meters high.
- Relax at the Falls: At the base of the falls, you can take a refreshing dip in the cool, clear water. This is an excellent way to cool down after your hike and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings.
- Afternoon Return: After a day filled with natural beauty and cultural insights, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Moshi.
