The Game Plan: The Grandest of Challenges
Day 1: The Long Road to Victory.
Your adventure begins with an early start. We will depart from Arusha and head straight for the legendary Serengeti. The drive is a safari in itself, as we traverse stunning landscapes and pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. While the journey is long (approximately 6-7 hours), it is a necessary part of the challenge to reach the heart of the action. Upon arrival, we will complete the park formalities and begin our first thrilling game drive en route to your accommodation, arriving in the evening for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 2: The Safari Grand Slam.
Today, we get to the core of the challenge. We’ll spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti. Your mission is to immerse yourself in the heart of Africa’s predator-prey dynamics. You’ll be on the hunt for the Big Cats—lion, leopard, and cheetah—as well as immense herds of wildebeest and zebra. Every sighting here feels like a victory in the wildest game on Earth. In the late afternoon, we’ll make our way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and an overnight stay on the crater rim, with an incredible view of the caldera below.
Day 3: The Final Challenge & Departure.
We’ll start early and descend 600 meters to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This unique ecosystem is a natural fortress teeming with an unparalleled concentration of wildlife. The objective? To spot all of the “Big Five” in a single day—a true test of skill and luck. Your Tarry Adventures guide will be your expert partner in this ultimate game of discovery. After a final, thrilling game drive and a picnic lunch, we will begin our drive back to Arusha. Due to the long drive, your departure time will be in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
